Biography of speakers

Nicolas von der Schulenburg, Managing Director, Portfolio Advisors, LLC

Nicolas joined Portfolio Advisors in 2006 and is the Co-Head of Europe. Previously, he was an Investment Director for CAM Private Equity, a private markets firm based in Germany, where he focused on research and due diligence on European and U.S. private equity funds. Prior to joining CAM in 2004, Nicolas had five years of direct private equity investing experience with 3i Group plc in Germany.

Previously, Nicolas was a management consultant with Arthur D. Little, Inc., focused on technology and innovation management consulting. Nicolas has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Yale University (Business Administration).

Olivier Laplace, Managing Partner, VI Partners

Olivier is a Managing Partner in the Technology team of VI Partners, with experience as tech entrepreneur & intrapreneur, software developer, investment banker and venture capital investor.

Prior to joining VI, Olivier was Investment Director at Swiss Post, where he built the corporate venture capital activity. He also worked in Corporate development for the Kudelski Group where he initiated and led the data analytics practice and executed M&A transactions. Olivier is a computer and financial engineer and holds an MBA from IMD.

Lars Meisinger, Head of International Client Advisory & CEO of Aquila Capital Growth

Lars Meisinger oversees Aquila Capital’s international client advisory and corporate development. He has more than 18 years of experience in the finance sector. Prior to joining Aquila Capital in 2016, Lars was responsible for strategic product development at UBS Asset Management.

He previously served as Chief Operating Officer at BlackRock Alternative Investors for the EMEA region. His long professional experience includes eight years in management roles at Man Group and senior positions at AXA Investment Managers in both London and Frankfurt. Lars holds a master's degree in economics from Maastricht University and a bachelor's degree from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, Frankfurt. He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
